Typhoons and Black Eyes

 Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

Howdy y'all! This week has been pretty crazy. As you can see by the title and as most of y'all probably already know there was a typhoon in Guam. It caused a decent amount of damage but fortunately Pohnpei wasn't really affected, just a lot of rain.

This week we did service for our stake president. We helped paint a wall and me being the intellectual I am, I tried to reach higher and stood on top of cinder blocks and next thing you know I found myself on the concrete. Anyway, I have a black eye now and it looks like I'm in a punk rock band. It was cool though because after I fell some of the members that were there gave me banana leaves and sugar wrapped in cloth and it helped the swelling go down a lot. So I can officially say I've been treated with local Pohnpeian medicine.

Besides the shenanigans of me being stupid, this week we've been helping out with more clerk stuff since my comp is the assistant membership clerk in our ward. Along with that we have been working with our inactive members to reactivate them and support them. We have had a ton of fun this week and we've been working our butts off as well so that's been good.

I hope y'all have a blessed week and stay safe out there. I poakpoake kumwail!

Baptisms and Marijuana

 Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

It's ya favorite island-boy again! This week's been pretty dope. We have been doing well in our area. We are back to walking and sweating haha. In all honesty Elder Tangi and I don't mind walking because we get to interact with people and we get to take in the beauty of Pohnpei as well.

This week I did a few baptismal interviews for some of the sisters' friends. I also got the chance to baptize one of them. It was very special for them but also very special for me since it was my first time baptizing on the mission. We were doing lots of clerk responsibilities on Sunday after church since my comp is the assistant ward clerk so that was really tiring but good that we were able to help out the ward.

Today for P-day we got our push-ups on in the morning. Later we played volleyball as a zone so that was super fun. A less active member we have been visiting had these Marijuana plants outside their house one day we went to contact them. They weren't home unfortunately but the weed plants made for a really funny story.

All in all this week's been pretty chill but I am enjoying the work here and the people of Pohnpei especially. I hope y'all have a good week and stay blessed.   I poakpoake kumwail!

Fried Dog & Totally Terrific Transfers

 Ohhhhh Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

Howdy y'all! I hope everyone has had a good week. This week has been pretty good as well for my comp and I. We have been in a trio this week because one of our Zone leaders became AP and flew back to Guam. So, because of that we have been teaching in the ZL's area as well as our own.

This week we had the chance to do some service for a few of our friends. We also got fed fried dog after we dug a hole for one of our friends so that was pretty cool. On Sunday we had transfer calls and Elder Tangi and I are staying in our area and I'm still district leader, but we are going to have only sisters in our district. It looks like I'm the new relief society president now!

In all, this week has been good but chill. Not much has happened but we are still working hard and enjoying the work. I hope everyone has a good week! I poakpoake kumwail!

Zone Conference, Stake Conference, and More!

 Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

This week's been pretty epic! We have been working hard and enjoying the last week of the transfer. This week we had stake conference, and it was really special to see all the Saints on Pohnpei gathered together for that wonderful and spiritual time. We have also been able to improve our language in our new area as both my comp and I are still learning Pohnpeian.

This week we had zone conference, and it was super fun but also a little sad. It was sad because one of our Zone leaders is leaving Pohnpei and going to Guam to be an Assistant to the President. We were sad he was leaving but they said he could potentially come back to Pohnpei at some point because he still has a year left. We were all happy for him and hope he enjoys his time as AP and grows as a missionary.

So, because he is leaving this week, we will be in a trio with the zone leader here until transfer calls. Other than that this week has been fairly chill. We are continuing to work with and trying to reactivate some of the less active or inactive members in our area, especially the Priesthood holders.

I can't wait for y'all to hear about transfers and what happens. Aside from that, as always, I poakpoake kumwail! Have a great week y'all!

Kitail Nantihong Ni Doadoak En Kauno! (Let Us All Press On in the Work of The Lord!)

 Oh Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

This Week's email will probably be shorter, so I apologize in advance. We have been doing well in our area. We went to seminary, mutual, and the YSA stake family home evening they have every Monday. I gave a baptismal interview on Thursday, and we got to attend the baptism on Saturday so that was awesome.

My comp got pretty sick on Wednesday, and he was throwing up a ton, so we didn't go out. I was able to give him a blessing and he was a lot better the next day. Sunday was really cool because we invited an inactive member named Marson to church. He told us how his family used to be super strong in the church but when his dad passed away his family's testimonies started to shrink, and they slowly fell away from the church. It was a huge miracle however when not just him but his wife and son came to sacrament meeting, and they stayed for the second hour so that was an awesome and spiritual miracle that happened this week. What made it even better is that he told us after church that he missed that feeling from going. He told us that he needed to come back, and he was going to do his best effort so him and his family can come more often.

We also had the opportunity to attend a stake priesthood meeting and it was a joy to see all of those worthy priesthood holders from Pohnpei gathered together. Overall, this week has been chill but very spiritual and tender. I am grateful for the love I've felt from the people of Pohnpei. I am glad I have the privilege to be here and "Press on in the Work of The Lord." I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I poakpoake kumwail!
