Sum' Mo' Walkin'

 Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

This week wasn't super crazy so this email will be pretty quick. We had transfer calls this week. It was pretty cool because they opened another new area on Pohnpei. I'm staying in the same area however my companion is leaving so I will have a new companion. His name is Elder Butikofer and he's super funny!  He is Pohnpeian but he was adopted and grew up in Morgan, Utah.  I'll definitely miss Elder Tangi but I'm stoked for this transfer!

We made banana bread for a few people this week and they enjoyed it so that was pretty cool. Before the mission I couldn't bake/cook for squat but now I guess you can call me Gordon Ramsey.

One of the Elders finished his mission today, so we had a little farewell for him. It was Elder Durrant, and it was definitely bittersweet because he follow-up trained me. It was cool to see his example he set and the impact he had on the people here.

Overall, this week has had a mix of fun and tiring emotions. I've enjoyed the work in Eirike and I'm looking forward to continuing to help the people here.

As always, love y'all and have a fantastic week!

*Funny story*
We got cussed out by a drunk dude who wanted a ride from us. He got super mad when we told him missionaries couldn't give rides. Anyway, I'm glad the Lord was looking out for us, and the homie didn't try to fight us. I now have a fun mission story to traumatize my future kids with.

Kedirepw douluhl!

 Oh Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

Has this week been busy? Yes! Has it been super fun? Also yes! This week we had zone conference. The Elders from Kosrae came so we trio-d with one of them for a few days and it was super cool. We also got to go on exchanges with our mission president so that was very special.

This week the missionaries also organized a stake YSA and youth fireside where we discussed missions and helped them get excited about missions. We went to a baptism this week and I had the opportunity to confirm the person on Sunday. I also gave a talk on Sunday and not gonna lie, it was definitely a little last minute.

For pday today we went to one of the church buildings here that has a decent sized field and played ultimate frisbee. It was super rainy, and the field became muddy very quickly. There were also tons of big frogs hopping around so it was super fun.

"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." 3 Nephi 5:13

I want to invite everyone this week to do something to share the gospel and be a disciple of Christ. I love all of you and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Skrrt skrrt

 Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

This week has been pretty fun in all honesty. We have had lots of success in our area this week. We found five new people we're teaching, and we had a good amount of member lessons. We also sorta got a car this week. I say sorta because it's not official in the records that our area has a car and also, it's basically a piece of scrap metal on the road so we only drive it to church and district council. Either way it's cool that we have a car now.

This Saturday we had the opportunity to attend a baptism. It was really awesome, and his testimony was fire and very powerful. This week we also went on exchanges, and I led out the area. It was super fun, and we had some amazing lessons. On Sunday we sang a musical number with the sisters in sacrament meeting so that was the first for me but it was enjoyable.

For Pday today we went on a hike and saw some old WW2 anti-aircraft guns so that was pretty dope. Zone Conference is this week, and all the missionaries are giving short talk/testimonies so that'll be interesting to see how that goes.

Outside of that nothing too crazy happened. I hope y'all have a great week and be safe. As always, I poakpoake kumwail!

Serikahn en Pohnpei me Ketiwo (Children of Pohnpei are naughty)

 Kaselehlie Maing Ko!

This week's been pretty chill. We had a really good family home evening with our Bishop and during it one of his kids, who's like 4, sneezes (keep in mind this kids not wearing any pants while this is happening) and after he sneezes he has this snot ball hanging from his nose and he just smiles and looks at his dad. Bishop wiped his nose and then said "disgusting!" It was very hard to contain our laughter to say the least.

Besides the crazy and somewhat naughty kids here we have been working a lot with our inactive members this week and it's shown some tremendous progress. On Sunday we had 3 inactive member families come to church and it was really cool. We also had the opportunity to take the sacrament to one of the members who's in the hospital so that was very special.

I also gave another baptismal interview this week and it was super cool. The person was super prepared and their answers to the questions were very impressive as well as spiritual.

I wanna leave y'all with a cool lil scrip I found this week. In Proverbs 17:22 it reads "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." I love this scripture, it shows the importance of having joy in our lives and how happiness can be a medicine.

Hope y'all have a blessed week and always remember to smile! I poakpoake kumwail!
